Teachers and parents at the Community School have become worried by the problems caused by unsafe car parking and local traffic outside the school at school run time. It’s become increasingly dangerous to cross Ring Fort Road so they asked the Community Council if it could help.
In response to this need the Community Council worked with County Councillor David Jenkins to win funding from the County Council for traffic controls outside the school. The work is going to be done shortly with single and double yellow lines to control parking at the point where children and their parents cross the road.
David says “we’ve got a road that’s busy when children go to school and there’s too much uncontrolled parking. The proposals will improve visibility and make it much safer.”
