Sounds a pretty boring subject to write a blogpost on but it’s fairly significant. Full Council today unanimously passed my motion on Cambridgeshire Music.
This follows the CREATE fiasco and the acceptance that although the decision as taken was technically sound it was premature.
In essence it was an operational decision (dispose of an asset) taken before a strategy had been considered and before an options analysis had been conducted regarding the location of the possible CREATE operation in/near to Cambridge.
Now a joint Commercial & Investment Committee/Children’s Committee panel will be established to review Cambridgeshire Music’s strategy with particular attention being given to digital music and to report back by the end of quarter 1, 2018.
That’s good news. It doesn’t mean that the CREATE project at St Luke’s Barn is saved but it does mean that right and proper decisions about it will be made.
